2 Things I Hate ........really really H.A.T.E.

I know this all may seem obvious but recent conversations have brought these feelings back to my mind. I must make it clear that I am in a happy 'stable' marriage now, but if things ever changed in my life i'd end up in the loony bin. (which by the way is effectionately known as a health spa for the emotionally needy, that doesn't allow razors or anything sharper than a spoon, but you can have a nice seaweed wrap - lovely)
1. I HATE the uncertainty involved with seeing someone.
For me emotionally it was so unsettling that I couldn't really relax. Your constantly walking on egg shells. Does the other person really like me or not. I hope I dont do anything to annoy them. What about when they find out about my peg-leg etc etc. It might have been because I had a bad experience where I thought I had found 'the one'. Right up to the very last minute before I was dumped I was clueless that my world was about to fall apart. I soon realised that you just never know whats going on in someones mind until they hit you with it.
2. I HATE heartbreak!
Yes I know these 2 things are linked together. But the pain of heartache for me was so intense. I would go from being the livliest person to being the broken one, like a pot that has smashed on the hard kitchen floor. I've always thought I was upbeat yet stable in coping with most situations. I'm not too easily shocked. But when it comes to the heart I smash to pieces. You might as well pull my heart out and eat it with some red wine and shallots, because it would be of no use to me anymore. Dumped is the perfect term to express what happens, there is no dignity involved. Its exactly like you've been thrown off a high building into a cold sloppy pool of doogy do!

Have a look at this cartoon link and tell me if you can relate to it. Its male oriented but can be applied to the fickleness of all relationships of the heart. It's worth it just for the humour believe me! I always like to end on a lighter note if I can.

Singing in the rain...............

I'm getting that feeling. My fingers are tingling and my topnotch is twitching!! Its time for a blog.

It started with this picture..
...i mean who cares if its raining or not if you've got one of these!

Then it led me to start thinking about my favourite favourite favourite musical of all time 'Singing in the Rain'. The day Gene Kelly died and they played all of the Singing in the Rain clip on the ITV 10 o'clock news was the only time I've cried over the death of a film star. Sad I know, but this movie brings an immediate reaction from me no matter what mood i'm in.

Have a look at this original clip its got to make you smile............

I was a bit annoyed when Volkswagon got Mint Royale to cover it for the new golf ad, but now I really like it. Click here.

Can this get even better, well up until today I had never seen the video that 'Mint Royale' had done for this remix. I have now though and as far as i'm concerned its one of the best videos i've seen for a long time. You've got to checkout this link and watch it for yourself, stick with it too. Click the picture.

Don't forget to comment, good or bad!

For No One

Do you have an opinion about the Beatles? Do you really think they deserve the title of being the 'biggest' and 'the best'?

If you had asked me that 15 years ago I'd have probably said they were alright thats all. Today though I would have to say I do believe they are the best that there has ever been. I now hear the music and appreciate its originality and musicality that many try to mimic. I listen to the lyrics and appreciate how inciteful Paul McCartney and John Lennon and even George Harrison were about things they observed within life and their environment. True at times they had the benefit of drugs to create and express what was going on in their minds.

Do you have a favourite Beatles song? Or album?

Mine is the melancholy masterpiece called "For No One" its from the Revolver album. It's not the lyrics but rather the tone and feeling of this one that draws me to it.

here's the lyrics: (tried to get an audio link but everything is straped down on the web regarding the Beatles)

For No One

The day breaks
Your mind aches
You find that all her words of kindness linger on
When she no longer needs you
She wakes up
She makes up
She takes her time and doesn't feel she has to hurry;
She no longer needs you

And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind the tears
Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years

You want her
You need her
And yet you don't believe her when she says
Her love is dead
You think she needs you

And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind the tears
Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years

You stay home
She goes out
She says that long ago she knew someone
But now he's gone
She doesn't need him

Your day breaks
Your mind aches
There will be times when all the things she said will fill your head,
You won't forget her

And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind the tears
Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years
Try and look this song and the Album out if you haven't heard it. Its worth the effort.

What a Shame..a modern Titanic tragedy!

Came across this and its such a shame and waste of life!! I dont have an opinion as to blame, but feel very sad for the families involved. But from what I can tell it looks like over 1000 people have died!

This is an archive picture of the ship involved.

Chicken with Ginger and Spring Onions

Here's a simple recipe that I have done for a nice oriental dish with that Thai ginger taste that I love.
Ingredients:

Coarsley chopped root Ginger - *(w) about an inch and half piece *(b) a lump
2 packets of Spring Onions - (w)sliced down the middle and halved (b) cut it
Vegetable Oil - (w) 1 tablespoon (b) a bit
1 to 2 Chicken Breast fillets - (w) sliced (5mm thick) (b) cut it
Chicken gravy granules - (w) 1 dessert spoon full and 125 ml hot water (b) 1/4 jug of gravy
Dark Soy Sauce - (w) 1-2 tablespoons to taste (b) a few splashes

n.b * (w) = womans version (b)= blokes version (men)

cooking:
1)Add oil to a pan or wok and fry the chopped chicken breast.
2)Add root ginger and fry until chicken is cooked through.
3)Add Sping onions and fry them with the chicken for 2-3 mins
4)Add the chicken gravy and soy sauce, and cook for a further 1-2 mins

All done!
put this with rice or vegetables as you prefer.

Incase you would like egg fried rice with this here's a quick recipe.
Rice - long grain(enough for all those eating)
oil
Garlic clove
1-2 eggs
Dark Soy Sauce

Boil rice until it is cooked yet still a little nutty. Then rinse off under the tap any excess sticky starch. Put some oil in the pan or wok and add a crushed garlic clove. When this is starting to brown break the egg into the pan and scramble it up with the garlic. When the egg is cooked through add the rice and stir fry keeping the rice moving and not sticking to the pan. Finally add a few splashes of soy sauce and serve immediately!

No particular reason why I thought i'd add this today. It was just that I made it last night and it tasted nice. You can always do the same ginger dish but with King Prawns instead of chicken and also using fish stock instead of chicken gravy.

Give it a go!

GOLDEN DONKEY
Hey i'm also working on another new fun blog thingy. I'm gonna do a weekly (ish) Golden Donkey award for those people who have truely shown their stupidity for all to see. I will be taking suggestions if you have any on possible candidates. I'm just working on the graphic for this and hoping to get it online soon!!
In fact I was thinking of doing a stupid person and a clever person award. But it has become evident to me that there are not many clever people in the world, but there is a bumper crop of stupid people!!! (not excluding myself)
