The chair where Chuck sits.....drum roll
This is the Chair
that supports the bum
and eases the piles
that itch and ache
while I type all day
to do the work
that feeds the family
who chose the chair
that supports the bum
where chuck sits....

Top Movies of 2005
(this is repost as the previous version of this got corrupted somehow)
Putting together a list of my top 10 movies of the year has been impossible. For the simple fact that this year Hollywood and friends have produced a crop of crap movies. BUT, there have been a few glimmers of light through it all. What i've done is 2 charts of my favourite movies on the big screen and on video, and also my least favourite movies where I think they would have done better in spending the money on the needy and insane!
Top Movies 2005(Big Screen)
1) Star Wars Episode III (wonderful special effects)
2) War of the Worlds (surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did)
3) The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
4) Wallace and Grommit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit(genuine British movie)
5) Serenity (entertaining, but really the best of a bad lot)
Worst Movies 2005(Big Screen)
5) Batman Begins (real disappointment)
4) Fantastic Four (weak, weak, weak)
3) The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (abismal - ruined one of my favourite novels)
2) Shark Tale (what was the point, Will Smith couldn't inject any life into this)
1) Madagascar (is it possible to have a worse movie than Shark Tale? oh yes)
...you do need to bare in mind that much of my movie watching included young kids being present...
Top Movies 2005 (DVD)
1) Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind (I am surprised how much I loved this)
2) Shaun of the Dead (cafe ole its for you.....)
3) Sin City
4) Kung Foo Hustle
5) The Wedding Crashers (this movie was sooooo wrong!)
(also noteable were Hitch with Will Smith, and Ray, the life story of Ray Charles)
Bottom Movies 2005 (DVD)
8) Sahara (bland and benine)
7) Night Watch (didnt live up to the hype)
6) Flight of the Pheonix (why bother)
5) Life Aquatic (didnt ring my bell at all)
4) The Phantom of the Opera (just naff)
3) Stealth (yawn Broken Arrow yawn)
2) Taxi (really crap remake of a French classic, see the original!!!!)
1) Mr & Mrs Smith (should be ashamed of themselves)
I'm sure many would disagree with my take on these movies, but thats what makes the world go round. I haven't seen the Peter Jackson take on King Kong although I have heard it is very good. Easily my biggest surprise this year has been the quality story and direction that went into "The Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind " it was shear brilliance. It was clever, funny, emmotional and romantic. That said I think my favourite movie overall has got to be the final Star Wars movie, just because George Lucas has finally made up for the abomination of that Phantom Menace movie!!(check out the link). All I can add to this is as least i've had LOST to keep me entertained this year. (check out the uk website link its ace, click on step into the unconscious)
the winner !!

name that movie........
the clues are..... "FREAK!", "That's a huge b****!"
This film was the the main course of a 'boys night IN' this week, very wrong!
Today was annual review with the big boss! How did this one go? hmmm if it is anything like last years it will be plenty of this.....
or even like this........
at times i've thought you've got be having a laugh.........
Its been preoccupying my head of late and I was not sure how it was going to turn out, good or bad?! Well today was D-day this was make or break. Was I going to be just a donkey or will 'the man' bring good tidings from the mothership.
Well, the answer is that "I DID GOOD!". I flipping well didn't get that annual beating from the huge gloom of dark corporate depression that tries to overwhelm my nasal passages and poisons my veins. Now lets not overdo this celebration with expectations of payrises and double vacation bonuses, but for now I do 'FEEL THE MAN', and I'm gonna strut!! :-)
just like this guy!! Arrooobaaaahh

gaga for Google
What inspired this blog is an interview I saw this week with Microsoft's Bill Gates. He was insinuating that Google didn't have a clue as to what they are doing. He was sneering at them. I hate people like that at the best of times, but why does a man who represents the most powerful computer company in the world have to be so condecending!!??
That sort of attitude really gets my goat! That cockyness where they know they have you by your nether regions and you can do little about it!!
Well here's one for Google. There are some really great things that have come out from Google. Things that I have not had to pay them money for directly, but have made a positive difference to my web experience, and even my families. For a start they embedded their search engine into Firefox which makes browsing loads easier. But the most incredible freebie that comes from them has got to be GOOGLE EARTH!!! If you dont have this on your PC currently then get it loaded its fantastic.
What can I say about Microsoft and the web experience they have given me. Internet Explorer has over the last couple of years allowed virus attacks on our PC's let alone allowing Spyware to run rampant on our machines. Can it get worse? oh yes it can!!! Pop-ups Pop-ups and more flippin pop-ups. If I use IE explorer it apparently gives every Tom, Dick and Harry the right to advertise their wares, lairs and pairs! If you are using anti spyware software on your machine I can bet that you use IE as your primary browser!!
So Mr Microsoft this one is a poke in the eye for you and your attitude. Mr Google on the other hand thanks for some good stuff, and try not to become a jerk!
