Here comes summer...do de do do

I'd like to think i'm generally speaking an upbeat sort of guy.

Yes I know my car blew up a couple of weeks back.
Yes I know it'll cost about a £1000 to fix.
Yes I know that I don't have a single clue where I'm gonna find the money to pay for it to be done.
Yes I know my bum aches from all the cycling. (not kiddin, pass me a cushion will will ya)

But at least the sun is out and we've had some glorious weather. It makes all the difference to me.

I've taken a few photos over the last couple of weeks that I thought i'd share. Keep happy guys and don't let the world get you down. (either that or try Prozac and beer, its marvelous)

The park in Chertsey a short hop from my house. My kids and I cycle through here all the time and feed the ducks. All very civilized.

Scent of Summer

Smell of hot concrete, metal and tar
hint of fresh mowed grass
perfume of rain, sunshine and roses
-is the scent of summer.

Stepping one foot within each square
of narrow, hand poured walks
leaving wet barefoot impressions
-is the image of summer

Warbles and chirps, twitters and caws
wafting from leafy boughs
the barking of squirrels at prowling cats
-is the music of summer

Warm sudden wind of approaching thunder
electricity charging the air
caress of cool rain refreshing the earth
-is the touch of summer

Through all my senses runs a thread of time
tinged with the memory

of summer.
