night night mum.............

Yesterday my mum died age 78.

I had a call in the morning from my brother telling me the news, and it made my heart drop to the ground. I guess it is obvious that I was in a mess, all I desperately wanted and all I needed was to hug my mum again, to nestle into her neck and feel the comfort and the security that can only come from a loving mothers embrace. We rushed to the hospital and I went into see her. I was use to seeing my mum without teeth so that didnt shock me. All I could do was throw my arms around her and hug her and to tell her one more time that I love her so so much. Even though she was cold by now I found my mum and said my goodbye. So night night mum have a good rest you really need it I know, i'll see you soon enough, love you! Your ever loving son xx

Just a few days before, now thats my mum. Her name is Sarah but everyone knows her as 'Sally'. She is the most beautiful woman in the world.

Chux - I'm so, so sorry. My mother died in 2004 and I was lucky enough to get an hour or so alone with her before the rest of the family arrived. I spent a long time recalling all the fun family things and telling her what a great mother she was. She was comatose, but somehow I think she heard it. I'm sure your ma knows exactly how you feel about her. You're in my thoughts and prayers - love, MaryB

Awww, are you trying to make me cry :-( I'm so sorry. I have no idea how you feel, so I won't say that I do. I wish you and your family all the best

Chux, only just read this. What a wonderful mother and woman Sally must have been. I'm glad you found some comfort in holding her, and the photo of her in the 'hat' is brilliant.

Great memories for you once the worst of the pain is passed.

Prayers for you and your family.
Liz

Charlie, I've only just read this post, years later.

Your words are beautiful, and so is the picture of your Mum.

Yes, she has the loveable and mischievous "Charlie" look in her face, just as you do!
